I&#8217;m still feeling a bit off from my cold, so on Saturday we took it pretty easy, going for a mooch around Galway. We strolled down to the harbour to visit the swans&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Swans\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060617swans.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;before walking back up into the centre for lunch (and Guinness of course!) at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.galway.net\/galwayguide\/showyp.shtml?id=703\">Tigh Neachtain<\/a> where we enjoyed a great chowder, followed by a stroll around the Saturday market and a few shops. We finished up with a very enjoyable meal at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcdonaghs.net\/\">McDonaghs restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday we drove into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burrenbeo.com\/\">the Burren<\/a>, where we visited the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shannonheritage.com\/O'Brien.htm\">Cliffs of Moher<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burrenbeo.com\/Dynamic.aspx?control=visitor-attractions-monuments\">Poulnabrone dolmen<\/a> (a 5000 year old tomb). It chucked it down all day, but that just added atmosphere \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"O\\\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060618cliffsandtower.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cliffs of Moher\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060618cliffs.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The dolmen is set in the middle of the limestone fields in the burren, which makes for a very strange landscape.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dolmen from a distance\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060618dolmen2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Poulnabrone dolmen\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060618dolmen.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Grandad&#8217;s looking a bit damp in this one.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Grandad in the rain\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/wp-myimages\/060618grandad.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My grandparents arrived on Friday without any problems, and we&#8217;ve had a good time this weekend.
