{"id":148,"date":"2007-04-08T19:13:24","date_gmt":"2007-04-08T18:13:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/?p=148"},"modified":"2007-04-24T15:40:16","modified_gmt":"2007-04-24T14:40:16","slug":"happy-easter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bearlybeaded.co.uk\/blog\/?p=148","title":{"rendered":"Happy Easter!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday we had a lunchtime seminar at the university by <a title=\"The wikipedia entry on Stanley Prusiner\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stanley_Prusiner\" target=\"_blank\">Stanley Prusiner<\/a>, who won a\u00c2\u00a0Nobel Prize in 1997 for his work on\u00c2\u00a0prions.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0That makes three Nobel\u00c2\u00a0Prize winners I&#8217;ve seen talk, as <a title=\"The wikipedia entry on Tim Hunt\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tim_Hunt\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Hunt<\/a> gave a presentation at the <a title=\"The website for the MC2 conference\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jb.man.ac.uk\/mc2\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">MC2<\/a> conference I attended in Manchester, and <a title=\"The wikipedia entry on Paul Nurse\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paul_Nurse\" target=\"_blank\">Paul Nurse<\/a> was the invited speaker at my graduation!<\/p>\n<p>Then I flew back into the UK on Friday, bright and early in the morning.\u00c2\u00a0 <a title=\"Dad's blog\" href=\"http:\/\/john.crouchley.com\/blog\/\">Dad&#8217;s<\/a> been in New York for the last week, and we met at Luton Airport to catch the train home together.\u00c2\u00a0 He&#8217;s posher than me, and gets to fly <a title=\"Silverjet airline\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flysilverjet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">business class<\/a>, so I met him in the business lounge for a quick breakfast before we caught our train.\u00c2\u00a0 Nice to see how the other half lives!<\/p>\n<p>We spent today\u00c2\u00a0at Patchings preparing for the bear fair tomorrow.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ve never had so many stallholders before so\u00c2\u00a0we&#8217;ve had to expand into a second building!\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re all set up and ready to go, so hopefully tomorrow will be a good day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday we had a lunchtime seminar at the university by Stanley Prusiner, who won a\u00c2\u00a0Nobel Prize in 1997 for his work on\u00c2\u00a0prions.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0That makes three Nobel\u00c2\u00a0Prize winners I&#8217;ve seen talk, as Tim Hunt gave a presentation at the MC2 conference I attended in Manchester, and Paul Nurse was the invited speaker at my graduation!
